That’s what we call changing the view

It would be just another eccentric building in Dubai, a city famous for all kind of excesses, but it turns out that Italian architect David Fisher’s new project is also a pretty green one. The 700 million U.S. Dollars skyscraper, that rotates 360 degrees around its central column - each floor rotating independently, so it creates a pretty cool movement - not only uses wind turbines to generate its power, but might also be able to provide energy to the urban area surrounding it. The plan is to also have photovoltaic panels on the roof and generate 7 million dollars worth energy every year. Makes me wonder if we are facing the future…

Eco-tourism school in Ecuador
In a recent Geotourism Challenge, competition sponsored by Ashoka’s Changemakers and National Geographic, was Yachana Foundation and Lodge, an education and sustainable development project for the youth from the Ecuadorian Amazon. Like it says here, the Yachana Technical High School is the only school in Ecuador that offers a degree in Eco-tourism and Sustainable Development.
