“No thank you”- Lucca, Tuscany.

Lucca, a small city in Tuscany, has barred any new ethnic restaurants from opening within its medieval walls to apparently, “protect local specialities from the rising popularity of different cuisines. And with immediate effect, the ban spreads on to all fast food, Kebab, Thai and Lebanese restaurants. Well, lets look at this way; if you want Thai food, visit Thailand instead… etc, etc.

As of today - the second day of the soaring heat; trains and train tracksmen, women, animals and children have buckled under this extreme heat. The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has tipped temperatures to go above the heat wave benchmark until at least Sunday.  [I could get on my knees and pray for ”poor old Adelaide”, but its so cold this side of the world that I will find difficulty in getting my shivery knees to the floor and keeping my hands clapped together in prayer. Dear Lord…]

New Portuguese

We are more than 230 million people spread around 8 countries. And since the beginning of this year, we are more united than ever, writing the exact same Portuguese.

The Portuguese Orthographic Reform will take a while to sink - after all, it’s not that easy to get used to Coreia when you spent your life writing Coréia - and therefore I’m glad to find some help out there.
