Make your own fuel at home

During the era of Prohibition in the Usa production of ethanol along with other forms of alcohol had been banned.
But now, in the biofuel era, ethanol could have a real revival. Especially since yesterday, when a California company presented the “world’s first home ethanol product”.
MicroFueler is a home-based ethanol production system that makes gas from sugar or stale beer for less than a buck a gallon.
It will cost $9,995, but executives hinted that carbon tax credits on the state and federal level may help subsidize the price..
“You just open it like a washing machine and dump in your sugar, close the door and push one button,” company founder Tom Quinn told us. “A few days later, you’ve got ethanol.”
But there’s still some doubt about it and someone warns that making ethanol at home is not so easy.
And what about costs and electricity consumptions?
