Put your hands together for…

While the world has their eyes and their money on the Nobel Prizes for 2008, there are some of us who take more pleasure in the Ignobles, prizes awarded to discoveries that ‘cannot, or should not be reproduced.’

The Ignobles for 2008 were announced this weekend, and given to brilliant discoveries like ‘high-priced fake medicine is more effective than low-priced fake medicine’, ‘fleas that live on a dog can jump higher than fleas that live on a cat’, and my favourite ’slime can be trained to solve puzzles’.
