Update your health

Whenever you fall ill or you just break an arm because of a stupid accident, you receive hundreds calls by worried friends or relatives asking about your state, how it happened, and how long your recovery will take.

Ok, you cannot but be happy to see you have so many friends worried about your health, but, at the same time, to repeat the same story one hundred times can be really exhausting.
That’s why CaringBridge and CarePages exist.

Patients all turned to the Internet, setting up individual web sites to give progress reports. So, instead of holding the phone for hours speaking with each single relative and friend, you just need to update your personal page.

CaringBridge is supported primarily by donations from users, as well as sponsor fees from hospitals. CarePages also has arrangements with hospitals and sells advertisements.

And they are not only tools to share news (good and bad ones): by knowing that there are other people with same problems you have, you can get encouragement, information, support and precious advice.
It’s a good way to stay in touch with people, even if you literally can’t get out of your bed… and, above all, only if you really want it.

I remember that when I broke my leg, as the phone rang, the only thing I did was shaking my head whispering to my dad “noooo, please! Tell them I’m sleeping!”.
